Affordable, Cheap, Convenient, and Reasonable Hotels near Dusseldorf Train Station in Germany

In March 2017, I traveled to Norway and Germany in Europe. While I was in Germany, I stayed at a reasonable hotel near the very convenient Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof Central Railway train station. This was my 3rd or 4th visits to Germany near Dusseldorf area. I have become very familiar with areas near Dusseldorf train station and I would like to share my research on reasonable hotel accommodation in one of the most bustling cities in Western Germany.
Dusseldorf in Germany became one of my favorite places to visit since 2013
Dusseldorf city is a great base location for day trips to nearby popular German cities such as Cologne, Bonn, and Koblenz.
Dusseldorf train station can also be used as a transit point to get to Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich in Germany, or Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris internationally. This train station also offers easy access to Dusseldorf airport and convention center, for visitors who are on their business trips.

IBIS HOTEL DUSSELDORF INSIDE OF TRAIN STATION

Passing by this hotel inside of the Düsseldorf station everyday, I can not help but noticing the convenient location Ibis hotel is located at. There were plenty of shops and restaurant inside and near by the train station, which makes this hotel very luggage-dragging friendly for visitors who have large suitcases or bad knees. Inside and outside of the train station feel relatively safe as I did not see any homeless on the streets. Because Dusseldorf is a thriving city, there will always be commuters walking in and out of the train station. Ibis is an European franchise hotel similar to Best Western or Holiday Inn in the United States. I am very fond of franchise hotels in Europe because the quality and the level of service will always meet my modest expectations.
ibis Hotel Dusseldorf is perhaps the number one convenient hotel. Price could range from 70-100 per room.

INSIDE OF DUSSELDORF TRAIN STATION
Cafe, grocery shops, bakeries, restaurants and of course, German sausages shops, are typical venues of bustling German city train stations.

From French to German, bakeries from different European origins can be found inside of Dusseldorf Hauptbahnhof train station.

For those who must have a cup of Caffè Americano to start off the day, there is an American coffee shop for you.

German Curry Wurst sausage shops are everywhere in Germany. There were more than one German Wurst sausage stands inside of Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof station

Curry Wurst is the best German sausage street food in my opinion

SURROUNDINGS OF DUSSELDORF TRAIN STATION
One thing I noticed about the streets nearby the train station is that there were many Asian ethnic restaurants, even more than Turkish Kebab restaurants when compared with other German cities such as Munich and Berlin. The city reminded me of Los Angeles Little Tokyo or Korean town. I later found out that Düsseldorf has the highest Japanese population in Europe due to the fact that Japanese company branch offices are concentrated in Dusseldorf. At reasonable prices, (when compared to prices in the US) staying near Dusseldorf station offers more varieties of cuisines when visitors are getting tired of eating pizza, pasta, sausages and German pork knuckles.

FLiXBUS bus stop is conveniently located next to Dusseldorf train station. FLiXBUS intercity bus system offers very comfortable bus rides between major international cities in Europe. At very inexpensive prices, FLixBUS is a good alternative to high speed trains and European budget airline flights

HOTEL RESIDENZ - WHERE I STAYED FOR 3 NIGHTS IN DUSSELDORF
I stayed at Hotel Residenz for a few nights during my stay in Dusseldorf. Even though the decor was nothing to brag about but the affordability and level of convenience was not to be overlooked. Overall I felt the hotel did its job of providing my friend and I a decent place to stay at a very convenient location, about 5 minute walk from the train station. Dusseldorf Residenz Hotel was located at a very busy street interaction with many markets and restaurants nearby.
Modest hotel accommodation like Hotel Residenz costs less than $200 USD for 3 nights

Staff at Hotel Residenz lobby were fluent in English.
Hotel staff will always be a good source for travel tips and restaurant recommendations
